01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A robust tonkotsu pork-bone broth paired with sweet soy sauce tare and chewy, thick noodles sets the foundation. Ramen Butayama Kitasenju Higashiguchi is a reassuring stop when you crave a hearty bowl heaped with vegetables and tender braised pork.
The core of the menu is a straightforward sizing system built around noodle weight and the number of pork slices. Portions range from a manageable Mini Ramen with 125 grams of noodles, to a Small Ramen with 250 grams—surpassing a standard ramen shop's large serving—up to a 375-gram Large Ramen for diners with a major appetite. Across every noodle size, you can also scale up the pork from the standard two slices to five slices with the "Buta" option, or eight slices with "Buta Double," matching your meal precisely to how much meat you want.
A broad lineup of toppings lets you add personal touches to the base bowl. Egg additions like raw egg, seasoned ajitama, or a set of five quail eggs bring mellow smoothness, while shredded white scallions and spicy garlic chives provide sharp contrast; parmesan-style powdered cheese, mayonnaise, or Bukkarī curry powder can also introduce richer variations. Pairing the broth with a side of seasoned pork fat (niku-abura) or steamed rice makes for another satisfying way to round out the bowl.
The ticket vending machine accepts transit IC cards in addition to cash, and the counter-oriented layout makes it an effortless stop for solo dining. Posted signs clearly explain how to call out your topping preferences just before the bowl is served, taking the pressure off first-time visitors. Takeout pork is also available if you wish to enjoy the restaurant's braised meat at home.
